“Is contrast medium safe?”

Unless you are allergic to the ingredients in the contrast, it is typically safe. There are known adverse reactions such as itching, wheezing, hives, nausea, and in some cases anaphylaxis in the worst case scenario; however sensitivity is different for everyone. You can always request a test to make sure it is safe for you to use before you take a full dose. Just let your doctor know that you want to be sure there will be no adverse reactions to the contrast before they administer it to you and they should accommodate. Good luck!
