Is dental anesthesia safe for pregnancy?

I am pregnant and will have a dental procedure. Is dental anesthesia safe for pregnancy?

It depends on what trimester you are in and how urgent your dental work is. If dental work can wait, better to do it after delivery. Also, you must get your Ob/gyn permission for anesthesia.

I assume that you are referring to a local anesthetic injection, NOT general anesthesia or sedation. Local anesthesia is very safe for most pregnant patients. I would recommend an anesthetic without epinephrine. If you have any complications with your pregnancy or underlying medical issues, consult with your MD before you visit your dentist.
It seems like most obs prefer dentists to use anesthetic without epinephrine.
Usually try and avoid the first trimester, but it is safe
Who ever is doing the procedure ask them and look it up I don’t know what anesthetic he uses
Yes. Make sure to remind your dentist that you are pregnant so that they can use a local anesthetic that is safe during pregnancy.
