“Is gingivitis cleaning painful?”
I will have a gingivitis cleaning. How should I prepare for the procedure?

No it is not painful, it can be a bit uncomfortable but not painful. However, it also depends on your anxiety.
Not typically. If it's a regular cleaning, you feel some mild discomfort if it has been a while since your teeth were cleaned however, most feel nothing at all and some find it enjoyable. With a deeper or "deep" cleaning, your mouth will have to get numb before the cleaning can begin and you may have some soreness after the procedure.
Generally most cleanings are painless. However if the gingiva is inflamed and the plaque is stubborn there may be some sensitivity. In cases where there is sensitivity a topical or local anesthetic may be administered.
It depends. How sensitive are your gums usually? Do you floss regularly, and use a battery-operated or electric toothbrush? If you don't, you should. Be sure to get instructions to use the toothbrush properly. Ask your dentist or hygienist to use alot of topical anesthetic - or to make you numb all over. Taking a painkiller before your visit will help, too.
Hi,
Cleaning is not painful. Just little sensitivity of gums. Warm salt water rinses after cleaning are helpful.

Brush your teeth well before you go to the dentist. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water 2-3 times a day, starting a few days before the dental appointment. If it hurts you during the dental cleaning, the dentist may spray a local anesthesia to make the cleaning comfortable.
