I will have hammertoe surgery. Is hammer toe surgery painful?

Yes, because it involves cutting of bone. Pain tolerances vary from patient to patient. The pain from hammer toe surgery can last from 1 - 4 days after the procedure. However, if your surgeon prescribes an appropriate opioid pain medicine then your pain level can be controlled to keep you comfortable as the pain decreases.
not really
Hi! You can expect pain after any surgery and it varies from person to person. If you follow your post operative instructions carefully and communicate with your doctor, you should have an uneventful healing process.
Usually not. Depends on your pain tolerance.
Should not be, they will give you post-op injection after surgery which should keep it numb for a period of time and help control the pain.
Any surgery will likely have some pain. I recommend you schedule an appointment with a foot and ankle surgeon (podiatrist) for evaluation, diagnosis and treatment options
Pain is relative. For some people, minor surgical procedures, such as hammer toe repair, may be very painful. For others, very little pain is involved. Your surgeon should be prescribing you pain medication for your post-operative pain control
Pain Depends on what surgery is needed, how many toes are being fixed, technique, surgeon preference, etc. At feet n beyond, we perform hammertoe correction in the office, with no pins, under local anesthesia only, and patients walk on the same day. and our patients only need extra strength Tylenol or ibuprofen for pain. please look into my office youtube page for a patient testimonials on their experience.
