“Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive after a cleaning?”
I had teeth cleaning yesterday. My teeth are very sensitive now. Is it normal for teeth to be sensitive after a cleaning?

Teeth can be sensitive after a cleaning especially if you don’t get them cleaned on a regular basis. Sensitivity will go away once you start brushing and flossing more regularly.
Yes. After removing calculus, the gums can shrink and expose some root surfaces that can be sensitive to air and cold. Ask your dentist if you can get a fluoride treatment or other desensitizing treatment. You can also get ACT fluoride rinse and swish for 1 minute then spit out Do Not Rinse at bedtime, 3 times per week. This will reduce sensitivity in the long run.
It is not unusual, especially if you had a lot of build-ups they had to scrape off. You may want to try some toothpaste for sensitivity.
