I got a dental implant 2 days ago. My jaw still hurts. Is it normal to have jaw pain after dental work?

This is not normal. It could indicate that your implant site has become infected, or that the implant has not begun bonding to the jaw bone properly. In rare cases, your pain and discomfort could be due to a metal allergy. In most cases, it will be possible to save your dental implant.
After having implants placed you may have mild to moderate discomfort for 2-4 days. If. you feel like the pain is really bothersome call your dental provider and let them know of your concerns they might want to see you.
