Is my mole cancerous?

I noticed a mole on my leg had a scab on it over a month ago. It healed fast and I didn’t think about it until a few days ago. The mole used to be smaller and very dark and round. Now the mole is oval shaped and half light brown and half white/pinkish.

The mole looks benign to me. If cancer, there should be more irregularity in the shape and color as well as significantly increasing size.

Unfortunately, no one can tell you that accurately with the photos we are provided on this site. Typically, at least a dermoscopic image or detailed standard image would be needed. Even then, it might be hard to tell without seeing a patient in person. I recommend you try to see your PCM or a board certified dermatologist.

It is very possible that the changes you have noticed are related to previous trauma to the mole from the crust to the size and color changes. That said, it is entirely possible that this mole has changed in characteristics because of serious biological issues. I strongly recommend that you see a dermatologist for a biopsy of the mole.
Hi,

The good news is that most moles are not cancerous. That said, the only way to know for certain is to visit a local dermatologist for a more in-depth analysis.
