“Is my skin dryness connected with diabetes?”
My skin is so dry and itchy, especially on my legs. No matter how much lotion I use it doesn't get any better. Could there be a connection with my diabetes?

Absolutely, your diabetes can affect your skin. This is a common occurrence. Good skin hygiene and moisturizing your legs will help tremendously. Sometimes, a topical cortisone cream can help.
Absolutely!! It's important to keep diabetes under good control. Avoid drying soaps and very hot water. Minimize sun exposure. Hydrate frequently.
Good afternoon,
Diabetes, especially if it is not well-controlled, is associated with dehydration, which causes dry skin. Dry skin is itchy, but in addition, diabetes is associated with nerve damage. The neuropathy is also associated with itchy skin.

I can only assume that you have type 2 diabetes and that occurs most often in older adults, at which time the lower legs in all people begin to lose the ability to lubricate the skin, especially the lower legs. Yes, diabetes can add to dry skin.
