Neurologist Questions Diabetic Nephropathy

Is nerve pulling common in diabetic patients?

My mother is 68 years old and has been complaining of nerve pulling all over her legs and particularly thigh region. The doctor has indicated that this could be a sign of progressive diabetic neuropathy. Is it a common condition or could it indicate something serious?

She needs a diagnosis to be sure. Long term Diabetics often get a Diabetic Neuropathy. It can be mild or severe. The "pulling" suggests it is moderately severe and can deteriorate to significant very painful nerve pain. There are 2 approaches. One is rigid diabetic control. The other is neuralgia control with anti neuralgia drugs. Good luck!
I am sorry. I do not know what you mean by nerve pulling.
It is common and indicates that diabetes need to be better controlled. Might need to check Vit B12 level too.
Diabetic Neuropathy is common in feet and lower extremities, she probably has something else, she should see a neurologist.
