Is root scaling good before braces or Invisalign?

I am a 19 year old male. I want to know is root scaling good before braces or Invisalign?

If you need a deep cleaning, yes. Generally a good cleaning and thorough exam is needed prior to starting ortho treatment (braces or Invisalign).
If needed.

At age 19 you should not have exposed roots so a regular cleaning should be all you need. Root exposure indicates periodontal disease which needs to be controlled regardless of orthodontic treatment.
Hello,

If you haven’t had your teeth cleaned in a while, it is a good idea to do that before you get Invisalign aligners. Since you are only 19 years old, perhaps just a general cleaning prophylaxis is all you need and not quadrant scaling/root planing. It’s hard to say without seeing your radiographs and doing a clinical exam.
Good luck!

Definitely is good if it's needed, but in a lot of patients, it's not needed and would be a waste of time and money. Normal hygienist cleaning should be efficient in most cases.
Only if one had periodontitis, “gum” (gingival) pockets 5 mm deep or deeper pockets. 1 mm is the width of a dime. A regular cleaning is recommended before orthodontic treatment.

19 is a bit young to need root scaling. If you do need it, get it done and have a follow-up to make sure the gums are healthy before beginning any tooth movement.
All depends on the health and condition of your gum tissue and bone support. If they’re healthy and no pocketing or bleeding, then no. If not healthy, don’t start ortho till they are.
Hope this helps you.

If you need it, then it's good to get it done before starting treatment. I would recommend a waterpik as well to help clean your teeth and gums after brushing and flossing.
Root scaling is only recommended in the event that you have been diagnosed with Periodontal disease.
Can be if you have a form of gum disease
