“Is there any cure for deafness?”
My son has been deaf since birth. We have learned to cope with and teaching him sign language to help him communicate. Is there any hope to treat deafness if a child is born with it?

There is currently no cure for congenital deafness. However, advancements in cochlear implants have made access to auditory information possible for many children. I encourage you to speak to an audiologist.
Cochlear implants may be the best course of action, as they bypass the outer ear function and connect sound directly to the auditory nerve. It’s best to consult an Audiologist in person for this matter, which you can find one through the American Audiology Association (https://memberportal.audiology.org/Directories/Find-an-Audiologist).
