Bumps on the lip that appear a few days after kissing could be herpes (cold sores), especially if they are tingling, itchy, or turning into fluid-filled blisters. However, it could also be an allergic reaction, irritation, or another infection.

What You Can Do:
Watch for changes—if the bumps become painful blisters and scab over, it’s likely herpes.
Avoid touching or picking the bumps to prevent spreading.
Use a cold compress to soothe irritation.
Avoid kissing or sharing utensils until you know what it is.
If the bumps keep growing, become painful, or happen again, see a doctor to confirm if it’s herpes and get the right treatment.
