Is it legal to buy ivermectin without a prescription online in America or can you buy it over the counter? If not why is it so taboo?

Ivermectin is a prescription medication, just like penicillin is. You cannot get it without a prescription because of the potential for misuse. This medication has serious side effects in many cases, and is only indicated for specific illnesses! The fuss is all about the fact that it is not indicated for nor has been shown to be effective in treating COVID-19!
