Kidney stones and gout?

I am 53 years old and I've had incidents of kidney stones since my early twenties with a recent first time incident of gout. My doctors tell me that I need to lose weight and so I have been doing some research and came across a product called the Man shake to help men and women to lose weight. It is available both off the shelf and online, perhaps you have heard of it. The problem is, some of the ingredients, spinach for example are known to contribute to the formation of kidney stones. On further research, I found that adding lemon to my drinking water, can assist in preventing these stones from forming and the incidents of gout from reoccurring. Would this be correct and if so, could this be a solution? I am currently on Dostinex, 2 tablets per week, Crestor 40mg, 1 tablet daily, and Cartier, 1 tablet daily. Hoping to hear from you soon.

I would not recommend taking the over the counter weight loss supplement. However, lemon added to water, or even low sugar lemonade is beneficial in preventing kidney stones. I would recommend seeking help from a nutritionist to see the safest way to lose weight with diet and adding exercise to your weekly routine. Three to five days of activity for 30 minutes or more will help with weight loss, as well as reducing the gout flare ups.
