Loss of red cells?

I visited a plasma center on Wednesday and I was donating when I noticed that the line in which the plasma collected goes through before it goes into the bottle was full of my blood. I'm very weak and I haven't had a good appetite since. Should I be concerned when I was told that I can't return to the plasma center in 8 weeks? How much blood could I have possibly lost that it takes 8 weeks to recover from?

No, when you gives plasma there is a period of time that needs to be elapsed until your plasma is recovered. Plasmapheresis is done by taking blood and using a machine to separate the plasma from blood. Then, they replace the plasma with fluid, add the replacement fluid to the blood and return the blood to the person receiving treatment. what they took was only your plasma that was replaced with fluid. There is no blood loss. Your blood is return to the body with protein called albumin. During plasma exchange your blood pressure is lower than usual. This can cause you feel weak, dizzy, or nauseous. Drink a lot of water in the days before the procedures. Hydrate that it will help you. Thank you.
If you are a plasma donor, you should be loosing very small amounts of ted blood cells. Prior to your next donation, the center drawing the plasma is required to test your red blood cell count and the amount of protein in your plasma.
Hello,

Firstly, it is important to make sure you know the facts. The reason why they do not want you to donate again too quickly can probably be answered in your blood work. If obtained too frequently, the products within the plasma will start to go down (such as albumin or antibodies) and this will lower the quality of the blood plasma. Since your blood cells are not taken, blood cell loss should not technically alter timing for plasma donation.
