Urologist Questions Urologist

Lost my libido?

Since 2013 (at the age of 26) my libido has steadily gone down. In the past, I’ve been to 2 different urologists that couldn’t help me. Of that time, I’ve been prescribed 50MG of Sertraline, 20MG of Sildenafil, 20MG of Tadalafil, and 2.5MG of Tadalafil all of which did nothing for me except give me a headache. I’ve also tried the injection Tri-Mix (injectable erection medication) (Alprostadil 30MCG/ML, Papaverine 30MG/ML, Phentolamine 3MG/ML) that also didn’t do anything for me. At present, I have virtually NO libido. My sex drive is gone! In February of this year, I started doing testosterone replacement therapy by way of injections of Testosterone Cypionate 200MG/ML. I inject myself twice weekly along with injecting 50 units of HCG three times weekly. My testosterone has since gone up from 307 to now over 847 and I still have NO sex drive at all. I have also tried the peptide 141 (Bremelanotide) both at the 10 & 20 units and that peptide didn’t do anything for me. I went to the Iowa Heart Center to make sure nothing was wrong with my heart and all was good. I also had 2 sleep studies done to see if that was the problem. I found out that I do have mild sleep apnea. So now I’m on a CPAP machine going on 2 months now and haven’t noticed any changes really regarding my sexual issues. I will still however sometimes get morning wood and I’ll still get erections out of no were so that is good, I guess. So I can get erect however there is no sex drive and my erections will only last a few minutes.

Have you seen this before? Should I be concerned? Or could it be that I am suffering from Male Hypoactive Sexual Desire Disorder to which I should see a sex therapist? Or could I have a dopamine deficiency? Two weeks ago, my local physician prescribed me Bupropion (Wellbutrin) XL 300MG. I’m taking it every day in hopes to help me if it is MHSDD. Also, cock rings don’t work for me. I can't perform with my girlfriend and it is frustrating!

Thanks

I think you went too far and a sex therapist can help to solve your problem.
You have been treated with almost all of the usual medical treatments. available. You need a Sexual therapy appointment
In my opinion, you need a penile doppler. Not available everywhere. This would answer the erection question. Regarding the MHSDD, a trained therapist is essential. Your hormone dosage is a bit on the high side, although you didn't say how much testosterone you are injecting.
Sorry to hear you're suffering from the reported sexual difficulties as described. Known to most, there would be no shortcut to help improve such. To help, you need an extensive and close consultation and counseling with a truly willing and ethical urologist as well as a sex therapist. To make you able and capable to work meaningfully with the trusted involved medical professionals, please review the related articles in www.formefirst.com and www.forALM.com. I hope you will patiently explore the sites to find the related topics meeting your personal need for helping your accumulated concerns.
Best wishes.
You have been through so much. I am sorry. Yes, you were way too young to have poor sex drive and concomitant erectile dysfunction. That is way too much testosterone therapy with HCG also. You seem to have a combination of psychological and physical dysfunction.

#1. See a sex therapist. Find a good one. Ask around… a national society exists.

#2. See a urologist who has completed a fellowship in sexual dysfunction. AND have a penile doppler study done to evaluate your penile arterial inflow/venous outflow.

All the best…
