Neurologist Questions Multiple Sclerosis

How is MS treated for patients above 78 years of age?

My father is 78 years old and has been recently diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis. What would be the course of treatment for him? Given his age and health, will he be able to take the treatment?

There are a number of treatment options depending on which type of MS he has. Treatment begins with 1 medicine and then usually other medicines are added to that in time, depending on his responses. No medicine is perfect or free of side effects. But MS is worse than almost any side effects. Age not usually a problem. Best wishes!
MS if it's active, then will still be treated with suppressants
Depends on his immune status. If he is not immune deficient his neurologist may treat him as anyone else.
