Monoclonul infusion?

My boyfriend received his 2 covid vaccines by Feb 21, 2021. 15 days ago he thought he had a cold, no fever, chills off and on for 2 days then coughing. 8 days later, Aug 10, he tested positive for covid and got his infusion this Weds in the hospital. He was given an inhaler. Eating a little better, but he is coughing a lot. He hasn't experienced shortness of breath. He's tired, not lethargic. He is 74, has a thyroid condition that he takes daily meds and a blood test taken 3 months ago was all good. What should we be looking for as the person giving infusion said his improvement would be within a short while.

HI,

HAVING RECEIVED THE VACCINE HELPS YOUR BODY TO BUILD ANTIBODIES AGAINST FUTURE COVID-19 EXPOSURE. YOU MAY HAVE BEEN EXPOSED TO A VARIANT. THE VACCINE AND MONOCLONAL AB HELP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM TO MOUNT A FIGHT AGAINST THE VIRUS, BUT DO NOT NECESSARILY DECREES ALL OF THE SYMPTOMS. A LOT OF PEOPLE WHO CONTRACT COVID-19 TEND TO HAVE A COUGH RELATED TO POST NASAL DRIP (MUCUS RUNNING DOWN THE BACK OF THE THROAT AND TRIGGERING THE COUGH RECEPTORS). IT SHOULD BE A DRY COUGH W/O CONSISTENT THICK, YELLOW OR GREEN PHLEGM. THE DRY COUGH CAN OFTEN BE TREATED WITH FLONASE UNTIL SYMPTOMS RESOLVE. IF IT WORSENS AFTER A WEEK OR SO, SEE YOUR PCP OR GO TO AN ACUTE CLINIC.
Thanks for the question.

Even after monoclonal antibody treatment, symptoms vary. What we do know is that the infusion prevents more severe disease in almost all cases. Look for very gradual improvement in cough and fatigue, over weeks. If that doesn't happen, see your doctor!
