Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Specialist Questions Pediatrics

My second child is 14 months old and hasn't taken her first steps. Is something wrong?

My first child took his first steps at 10 months, but my second child is 14 months old and still hasn't taken her first steps. I am concerned. Could this be a sign of a developmental issue?

there is a range of when first steps occur, which can be as late as 16-18 months. Have your pediatrician do a physical exam and developmental assessment to make sure everything else on track
Not necessarily abnormal. Some babies may not start walking until this age. However, your daughter shall be evaluated in the pediatricians office to make sure there is no developmental delay.
