Dermatologist Questions Dermapathologist

Non-itchy and non-raised rash?

I have a rash on my upper thigh. It's not itchy or raised. It's mostly just a discoloration of the skin. It seems to fade and almost go away, they can get bright red. One main patch with a couple of spots spread out. All under the underwear line. Had a small spot of it once before which was gone in a couple of days. Chalked it up to skin irritation/allergic reaction to polyester underwear, but the new patch isn't going away.

The rash you’re describing could be due to skin irritation, a fungal infection, or dermatitis. Since it’s lasted for a month, it’s best to see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis.

Keep the area clean and dry, and try wearing cotton underwear to reduce irritation. If it doesn’t improve, contact Irvine Skin for expert advice and treatment.

Try hydrocortisone; if the rash persists, best to see a local dermatologist.
