Open cholecystectomy post op.?

I had an open cholecystectomy 6 weeks ago, with no significant problems since. Would it be safe to attempt to complete a marathon - walking as much as is necessary - in 6/7 weeks time i.e 12/13 weeks post op? My health otherwise is pretty good, my fitness level pre-op was good, and I have completed 10+ marathons previously.

Your body will limit your activities. If you have pain or discomfort, then do not proceed with activities. You will also find that you get more fatigued quicker than you did prior to surgery. You may not be back to your pre-operative function and activity level by 3 months post-operatively, but I certainly applaud your efforts in trying.
No, wait 3-6 months.
