ā€œPersistent diarrhea, bloating, stomach cramps, nausea ā€

Hi, I took laxatives about a week ago and have been experiencing a lot of pain ever since then. This has never happened to me. I have diarrhea, cramps, bloating, and nausea. Is this related to the laxative? I am currently taking Larissa (birth control) and spironolactone for acne. Please help me. Iā€™m worried that my symptoms have been so severe and persistent. Thank you

This is not a usual response to laxatives but it is possible that the colon is going through a period of sensitivity and excessive motility as a result of the stimulation caused by the laxatives.
Go ahead and try some imodium to see if the diarrhea slows down. If the symptoms last more than 3 weeks then you need to see a physician.
