Dermatologist Questions Genital Warts

Podophyllum cream not too effective.

Hi. I’m in Nigeria. I have genital warts and rashes and the doctor’s prescription was Podophyllum cream which has little effects to the warts and zero effects to the rashes. Although it’s been 4 days I started using it, I think the results should be faster than this. Please help.

Podophyllum cream is commonly used to treat genital warts, but it can take some time to show results, typically around 2–4 weeks. Since you’ve only been using it for 4 days, it’s normal not to see fast results. However, if there’s no improvement or if the rash continues, it's important to consult your doctor again to explore other treatment options. Genital warts can sometimes need a more specific treatment, and a dermatologist at Irvine Skin could provide further guidance for your case.

Hi patient, HPV is difficult to treat, and it all depends on you and your doctor to determine which treatment works best for you.I would recommend that you sit with your dermatologist or PCP and discuss your concern. Nekia Crutchfield, Dermatologist .
