Oncologist Questions

Post biopsy swelling

I'm asking on behalf of my wife. She's recently gone through the process of a cancer diagnosis. She had a lymph node biopsy by needle about 2 weeks ago. She has had swelling of the node from the start. She now is having swelling in various places(legs, ankles, pubic area. etc) .It looks like retained fluid. Is this a major concern?

Hi,

Thank you for your question. Lymph nodes are part of the lymphatic system and responsible for draining fluid throughout all parts of the body. This could be edema, excess fluid accumulation. Please see your doctor as soon as possible.

Hope this helps and please let me know if you have any further questions.

Best wishes,

yes - have tour doc take a look at it- may or may not be connected with the biopsy
