Radiation treatments?

My husband has had 7 of 10 radiation treatments but due to ice on roads, we cannot get to the clinic for the last 3 treatments. How long can he wait to still be effective?

He should resume his treatment as soon as he safely can do so. Radiation therapy is prescribed based on the number of treatments over a desired period. 10 treatments is usually prescribed to be given over 2 consecutive weeks, 5 each week. If the unintended interruption is too long, his doctor might prescribe a few extra treatments to make up for the time lost during which the cancer cells were allowed to regrow. It depends on a number of factors such as type of cancer, overall health and condition of the patient, and goal of treatment, such as relief of pain. The best advice is to speak with his radiation oncologist. Get Outlook for iOShttpsaka.mso0ukef
One or two weeks. His doctor may have to modify treatment to add a few more treatments
