Why is it ever necessary for a female to get a rectal exam?

An annual rectal exam in either sex can detect polyps or cancer and look for signs of hidden blood which could be life saving. (In addition to colonoscopy every 10 years for average risk patients starting at age 45
Females can have the same rectal pathology as males such as hemorrhoids issues, anal fissure, fistula and cancer. So regardless of the sex if someone has any rectal symptoms they need a rectal exam.
