Should I be signed off work or not?

Medically discharged from the army after 19 years after having my l4 and l5 removed and replaced with a metal plate, the operation was in 2006. in 2017, had another back operation this time 2 inches shaved off my spine and fused. Back problem fixed. Fast forward to 2021 after an accident in February this year where I was knocked over by an industrial saw knocked to the ground banged my head and back. I now have shooting pains in my legs and knees I have very limited mobility with my back very sore burning feet and lower body sore when at work, working a 10-hour nightshift.

Conditions: infused lower spine, arthritis in both knees, arthritis in both big toes and in hips

It sounds like you are definitely having a tough time. Regarding your lower extremity nerve pain, please seek an evaluation from a spinal specialist in the orthopedic area. If you have nerve compression, it needs to be remediated quickly to prevent further damage. They will be able to fully access your work status. Though it sounds like you may need to look for a different type of work, which will be easier on your body.
