Family Medicine Questions Family Physician

Should I be worried?

I've had problems with hypertension since at least age 16 years. I think since March 2020 I stopped taking my meditation Betacard-AM-50 for hypertension. Three days ago my father went to a family physician, who also referred me to a psychiatrist. So the physician said "Bring your son, I will check his blood pressure" and so two days ago (on 07-07-2021) both of us went to the doctor who talked to me, took my hypertension reads and my readings were 160 for systole and 80 for diastole (or 160/80)

Now that I was off my meditation Betacard-AM-50 for I think 17 months, I am worried, The doctor did not seem worried but he told me to start taking the meditation from then, I am doing as told. I am worried that organ damage due to hypertension has occurred. I had misremembered the details and back then I was very young, I think I was not even 19 years old. My date of birth is 21-12-2000.

And what makes me anxious, is that I used to visit a psychiatrist as well. I've talked to my dad about re-visiting the same psychiatrist and telling him how I had misremembered something, stopped taking my medications (prescribed by the psychiatrist) and my parents did not encourage me beyond two days. As I was just I think 18 years old, something happened between my parents, I became upset and stopped taking my meds, and after 2 days I did not talk to my parents about it and neither did they talk to me about it until 07-07-2021 .
I live in India, by the way.

So, to summarize
1) I used to visit a psychiatrist who prescribed me meditations, and he never told me what conditions I have.
2) I was also on the anti-hypertensive medication Betacard-AM-50
3) I think around 17 months ago, (might be 15 months ago), I was just 18-19 years old and some arguments happened between my parents (they fight since their marriage) and I got angry and I said I won't take my medicines, let it be. My parents did not encourage me to take medicines for more than two days, I misremembered why I don't take my medicines and now my recent blood pressure readings were high. So I am worried about damage to my organs and whatnot. I will be consulting the psychiatrist soon when my parents allow it.

I want to join the military or police soon. I hope due to my mistakes (everyone is human) I will still get a chance to serve. I want to enroll in law college the next academic year. After that, I hope I will join the military or police. I hope my dream comes true. Thank you.

I don't think that you need to worry about any organ damage at this point, but make sure that you take your medications regularly as prescribed. Also it is a good idea to see your psychiatrist as soon as you can. You are still quite young and I am sure your dreams would come true if you get good treatment and persevere in your efforts to get your dreams come true.
All the best.
