Should I go to ER for panic attack?

I am a 17 year old female. I want to know if I should go to ER for panic attack?

If you have a Pediatrician or Primary care Doctor, I would recommend to call the office to see if you can be seen. IF not, then it will be better to get evaluated at an urgent care or ER as soon as possible. Meanwhile, you can try breathing into a brown paper bag to see if it helps abort the attack.

IF you are CERTAIN it is just a panic attack---then you should NOT go to the ED--as it is not life-threatening and will go away. But panic/anxiety symptoms can mimic a heart attack or other acute life-threatening medical events, so it is crucial to be SURE it is only a panic attack--and then if so, stay at home and let it resolve on it own. Or, if they recur, see a doctor who can prescribe medication that can quickly relieve symptoms, or one that a patient can take daily in order to PREVENT a panic attack from occurring.
You can for acute attacks but chronic anxiety is better managed by a primary physician
