Situational lactose intolerance?

This all may sound strange but I'm sure any doctor has heard much stranger- But I'm not 100% sure I'm lactose intolerant but I'm still not sure I'm not either. As a kid I would drink several cups of 2% milk almost everyday. I loved milk, it was simple, quick and relatively cheap so we could buy more whenever we ran out. But around 14 or 15 years old I started getting stomach pain and diarrhea whenever I drank straight milk. Not usually when I ate anything with dairy in it though- just milk. So, after awhile I just tried to drink much smaller amounts and less of it. Until finally it's like it all disappeared again- I could drink my milk again.

Until...the other day. I was hungry but payday wasn't for another few days so I just threw some noodles on the stove and *tried* to make a sauce. I used milk, butter, and some seasoning....listen I'm not a chef okay? This is when I got the glorious idea to put some cheese in. This worked wonderfully and it tasted great- Im pretty sure I just made some crappy fondue though. Anyways, that was 4 days ago and ever since then I've been getting instant violent urges to use the restroom and when I do get to the bathroom... pressure build up and the stench is awful. There's no warning!! I get 30 seconds TOPS before I lose the battle.

The cheese wasn't spoiled, I don't have any other symptoms or ailments. I don't need medication I hope. I just would like to know if this sounds like any common disorder or illness so I can prepare myself and know how to avoid other incidents in the future.

True lactose intolerance is quite rare and found in certain ethnicities only. Most lactose intolerance noted in my patients are secondary lactose intolerance due to reduction in lactase enzymes as part of their aging process. There’s also milk allergy which is different from intolerance. Cheese behaves differently from milk due to its higher fat content.
You may have more irritable bowel syndrome than lactose intolerance. You can test for actual lactose intolerance with a breath test. IBS is a clinical diagnosis with no test to prove it. A good GI doctor can help you sort it all out.
