Thyroid is messed up?

I started taking .125 of leverthroxine and my tsh levels went high, 2.84. Then the doctor instructed me to stop taking the medication for 5 days until I could get in to see the cnp I was currently seeing. I feel as bad now as I did when it was high, was it advisible to stop taking the medication, everything I have read tells me not to discontinue the medication.

Female | 74 years old
Complaint duration: 14 days
Medications: dialantin

Dear Patient,

A tsh of 2.84 is within the normal range of 0.5 to 4.5 in non-pregnant females. The levothyroxine should be taken 30 minutes before breakfast and apart from any other meds. The Dilantin can interfere with the effect of thyroid meds and may be resolved with a larger dose of thyroid. This complex situation requires careful discussion with your physician and perhaps a referral to an endocrinologist.

Respectfully,
