Urologist Questions

Urinary Problem

I am a 72 year old, male with medicated high blood pressure. No other medical issue except a new urinary system problem.
This past week I have started having a constant, somewhat painful steady pressure to urinate. While urinating the volume and stream are less than previous to this problem beginning.
Last week before these symptoms started I experienced one night of severe pain in the lower abdomen. I was not able to urinate or defecate but the urge and pressure to do both was substantial. The next day things slowly came back to normal, however the urination problem seems to be increasing.
I have not suffered any trauma to my body to exacerbate this.

Complaint duration: 7 days
Medications: candesartan, amlodipine, terazosin, allopurinol,
Conditions: high blood pressure

There is no question, you must see a urologist for this. You may soon develop "urinary retention" and be unable to urinate altogether. This can also lead to severe urinary infection. Your problem seems long-term, but there appears to be a more recent urgency now.
Symptoms appear to be related to an enlarged prostate usually Terazosine helps to improve your symptoms. I suggest you check with your Urologist to help you to overcome these symptoms
