No real restrictions for my patients after gallbladder surgery. Any kind of food they used to eat before surgery is okay after surgery in moderation.
Eat a heart healthy diet. https://www.heart.org/en/healthy-living/healthy-eating/eat-smart/nutrition-basics/aha-diet-and-lifestyle-recommendations
I tell my patients to stay away from fried foods and anything spicy for about a week.
Hello,
Low fat foods less that 3 grams per serving
Low-fat, 1%, or fat-free dairy products.
Fat-free cheeses.
Egg whites or egg substitutes.
Veggie burgers.
Beans, peas, lentils.
Oatmeal.
Whole grains.
Brown rice.
Avoid butter, lard, bacon chicken skin etc.
Stay away from fatty meals. Organic green Mediterranean, low gluten, non-GMO diet.
I typically recommend a low fat low cholesterol diet. Fatty, greasy, and oily foods may cause some discomfort or diarrhea in the recovery phase after surgery. Occasionally, patients report discomfort with dairy foods and spicy foods. These symptoms rarely last more than 3 months.
