All levels of ckd require monitoring and follow up All stages need blood pressure control as with medications such as angiotensin renin blockers, ARBs, and Blood sugar control with diabetes which often is a leading cause. (Hb A1-c > 6.5) Stages 3b(albuminuria), 4 and 5 require more intensive care. Stage 3 and 4 requires reversing reversible or treatable causes, EG controlling blood sugar, blood pressure, treating lupus and other causes. Stage 4 requires future planning for possible renal transplant or dialysis. Stage 5 requires dialysis or transplant. Most older people with stage 3 do not progress to renal failure, but regular blood and urine tests are expected.
