What are the goals of therapy for schizophrenia?

My friend has schizophrenia and will have therapy. What are the goals of therapy for schizophrenia?

The goals of long-term therapy are to preserve the gains made during acute treatment, prevent symptom exacerbation, enhance psychosocial functioning, and improve quality of life. Schizophrenia is an illness that disrupts broad areas of mental function, including thought, cognition, affect, and motor performance.
Greetings,

Therapy goals change to reflect the stage the individual is in with their treatment. However, some therapy goals are to have a good family life, hold down a job, be social and enjoy the activities, etc. I hope this helps.
Goals established in therapy are personal. They should never be ‘one size fits all’ because everyone is different.
