What are the side effects of having your gallbladder removed?

I am a 50 year old male. I want to know what are the side effects of having your gallbladder removed?

Very few—same as for any other operation, but since this one is usually done via endoscope, they’re pretty small. We do NOT recommend taking the GB out preventively, but if it has caused problems (the worst being pancreatitis), it will like do that again so get it out.
You have some diarrhea which gets better after some weeks
The most common side effect occurs in the recovery period when patients may develop diarrhea, especially after eating fatty, greasy, or oily foods. That occurs in less than 1 in 3 patients and typically resolves in 3 months.
Usually none, but sometimes people get diarrhea from bile induced. It usually gets better. See a GI doctor, there is a medicine to help for that.
