“What are the treatment options for viral myocarditis?”
I had COVID 2 weeks ago. Today I was diagnosed with viral myocarditis. Is it serious?

Myocarditis is a serious illness. If heart failure were to occur with it this would be treated. Viral myocarditis due to Covid-19 is a new illness and is still in the early stages of study.
Viral myocarditis can be a serious complication. There is no specific drug for the treatment. You need rest, fluid restriction, sometimes an ACE inhibitor or an ARB medication to prevent heart failure. A beta blocker may also be used if necessary. Sometimes corticosteroids are necessary for inflammation. However, there can be complications with these drugs, so they are not used unless absolutely necessary. Abnormal heart rhythms and shortness of breath, should signal a serious complication, and urgent medical attention is needed.
Unfortunately, there aren't many treatment options for viral myocarditis. Management is generally directed toward maintaining good heart function (with certain medications) and reducing inflammation. Having said that, if the virus is identified early in the course, there may be some antiviral medications that could help. The seriousness of viral myocarditis is very variable. Most get better quickly (even without treatment), but there are a few that will progress to heart failure and require special interventions. Luckily, this is less common.
