It depends on the cause of the anemia. Most commonly it is secondary to iron deficiency anemia so the pediatrician will prescribe iron supplementation.
Two very important pieces of information are needed to accurately answer this question . One of them is age: infant and children whose diet is based on cow's milk can develop anemia.
