Bone pain can be from many causes, from as mild a condition as inflammation to something serious like bone cancer. The first thing to ask is if there has been a recent injury or new exercise, both of which can be responsible for bone pain. Your age, activities and history can also play a role. Younger people can have bone pain when they are growing or starting new activities but these should be easily remedied by rest, stretching, hot shower and some ibuprofen. Older folks can be developing arthritis or possibly nerve pain that can radiate from the back. If the pain is not improved with rest, heat and some occasional ibuprofen or tylenol, you would need to be seen in person by a medical provider, have an exam and possibly an xray of the leg.
