My dog has a joint swelling in his paw. What can you give a dog for joint swelling?

I would recommend taking your dog to see their primary care doctor to perform additional diagnostic tests. If it's limited to one paw, the likelihood of traumatic injury is high; however, additional tests would be needed if bacteria was introduced to site of injury. Culture and susceptibility test would be recommended to prescribe antibiotics if needed. Otherwise, your primary care doctor may prescribe anti-inflammatory medications to reduce the swelling.
