Arteritis of the temporal artery
It sounds as though they ruled out a blood vessel abnormality. It could be a pinched nerve in the neck that causes spasms of muscles among several other causes. A Neurologist or a Pain Management Clinic/Specialist may be needed if your PCP needs further help with any tests to order.
She needs to be thoughrouly evaluated. There may be many causes.Vascular ( arteritis, artery disection) neuropathic ( pinched nerves roots from a herniated disk).Get her in to see a Neurologist as soon as possible to get a detailed history and physical exam and further diagnostic testing.
