Either inflammation around dental nerve like in gingivitis or parodontosis or enamel thinning and loss. Mouth wash with local anesthetic and anti inflammatory medication can help. But if its persistent and getting worse you might need antibiotics and dentists attention
Toothaches can be caused by a wide variety of problems, ranging from intrinsic tooth decay, trauma, gum problems, among others. Diagnosis is best made by a licensed dentist. Toothaches, if undiagnosed and untreated, could lead to serious mouth infections which could spread to the face and even central nervous system. Dr. Odell Note - I am a medical doctor, not a dentist
There are multiple reasons that could cause a toothache. You should seek a diagnosis from a dental office.
In the mean time, if you can take Ibuprofen that may alleviate the discomfort. Try warm salt water rinses 3-5 times per day. Brush and floss your teeth. You may also put an ice pack on the outside of your face in the area of the toothache, If that does not help try warm wet compresses.
