Interventional Radiologist Questions

What could cause this sclerotic lesion?

I have 3 thyroid nodules, one suspicious, and all neck lymph nodes are swollen.. biopsy inconclusive, awaiting next appointment. Meanwhile, I began experiencing progressively worse and excruciating hip pain. Sed rate was 315, RA test negative, however pelvic x-ray showed a sclerotic lesion. My pain is 10/10 and it radiates everywhere, even calf muscles feel like they're crawling. I have hard, very tender lumps when the outer thigh is palpated. I've never fellt so bad in my life.

Looks like an enchondroma or bone island, both of which are benign. They could have some mild pain associated with them depending on the attention of the pull on the joint or the position of the body at times. If you having that much pain in the area, you need to get an MRI of your pelvis and upper legs as well as a nuclear bone scan to evaluate for areas of inflammation and that may lead to a PET scan to take a look to see if there is areas of metastatic cancer as well which is much less likely young age. It does not look suspicious for cancer but you would want to rule that out as it being the most threatening diagnosis we would be considering. Hope that helps. Good luck.
With so many findings in your body, I am sure that your doctor will order further imaging. Lumps that you can feel in your body can have many different causes, but it is important for your doctor to figure out the cause. Also, bone lesions can be benign or malignant. And usually a CT scan or MRI can help to characterize the lesion.
