What diet is good for a fatty liver?

I have a fatty liver. I want to treat it. What diet is good for a fatty liver?

Most likely the diet you are currently on is a factor in causing fatty liver. So your diet should probably be diagonally opposite to your current diet. Having said that there is no simple answer to what diet is best in fatty liver. I have had successes treating fatty liver by simply finding out what kind of metabolism does a person has. There is metabolic testing that should be done in order to find the best diet for you. Hope this helps. If you have questions feel free to call our office at 323-661-7661
I would suggest a low cholesterol diet.
This is a very good question and while I would love to answer it, the dietary pattern really needs to be individualized depending on a person's medical situation. I will say that in general, I prefer to have people ADD in foods such as fruit, vegetables, and whole grains, and eating less concentrated carbohydrates like sugary desserts, rather than going on a strict weight loss plan that is ineffective.

Fat is the liver is often caused by over consumption of sugars and carbohydrates. Soda, juice, and sports drinks all have a lot of sugar. Cookies, cereals, and baked goods are often high in simple carbohydrates. Decreasing intake of these foods will help. Simple daily exercise like walking will also make a difference.
Any low fat and/or low carbohydrate diet, e.g., Mediterranean diet. If you are overweight or obese, weight loss is by far the best treatment for fatty liver.
