Occupational Medicine Questions Screening Tests

What do you mean by occupational health check?

I am undergoing my final stage of interviews for a new job role in a big organization. Apart from my last round of interviews, I have been asked to undergo an occupational health check. What exactly does it mean and what are the kind of diagnostics covered under this screening?

An occupational health check might be different depending on the requirements of the job. Think of it as a functional health screening in addition to overall wellness check. So if your job requires you to lift a certain amount, they may have you perform those simulated activities with good body mechanics to make sure that you don’t have any issues. They may also simply test your muscle strength for arms, legs, back. I would ask your potential employer what all it involves prior to your occupational health screening. This way, you are prepared going in. If you are currently able to do that job, you should have no problem passing the occupational health screening. Take care.
