Psychiatrist
A person needs to be appropriate diagnosed, if they have depression or Bipolar Disorder they should be under the care of a clinician, masters level counselor, and a psychiatrist for medication management.
Best to work with both a psychiatrist and a doctor of clinical psychology.
A licensed psychologist and probably a psychiatrist too. There are psychiatrists that will do the therapy as well, but typically you would see both. I would start with a psychologist (this is the doctor who will do the talk therapy) and then get a recommendation for a psychiatrist (this doctor will do the evaluation and prescribing/monitoring or medication). There are many people with similar diagnoses who lead normal productive lives. A diagnosis doesn’t define you! These doctors will help you get to a place of feeling and living as serene and grounded a life as possible.
HI! You would benefit from seeing a Psychiatrist for medication to help with your symptoms. Some Primary Care Doctors can prescribe psych medication as well.

A therapist may be helpful to provide you with tools and support to help manage our mood. If you are interested in seeing a counselor/therapist, please reach back out.
I would continue to see the professional who diagnosed you, and if medication is a treatment option, maybe a referral to a psychiatrist. If you don't agree with the diagnosis, you can always get a second opinion. Erika
You are definitely going to want to search for a combination of psychotherapy and possibly pharamceutical intervention. You can always start with a psychologist and/or therapist and be referred to a psychiatrist if they feel you also need medication to go along with your therapy treatment.
Psychiatrist for diagnosis and treatment recommendations
Treatment for bipolar disorder typically involves a combination of medication and psychotherapy. It’s essential to find a healthcare provider who is experienced in treating bipolar disorder and who can tailor the treatment plan to meet individual needs. Early intervention and ongoing care can greatly improve the quality of life for individuals with bipolar disorder. If you or someone you know is experiencing symptoms of bipolar disorder, reach out to a mental health professional for assessment and support.
