“What fixes astigmatism?”
I was diagnosed with astigmatism. What fixes astigmatism?

Most of the time eyeglasses. Occasionally, we will make an incision in the cornea to reduce the astigmatism
LASIK definitely fixes astigmatism, as does PRK and SMILE. For higher degrees of astigmatism, LASIK is the most accurate and stable. Astigmatism is a football shape to the eye, and advanced LASIK uses eye trackers which can "register" your iris pattern and align the "laces of the football" to correct the astigmatism, converting the football shape into a basketball shape for best vision.

In order to correct astigmatism, you have the options of glasses, contact lenses, or refractive surgery. When you use the term "fixes", glasses and contact lenses will correct the astigmatism when you wear these devices, but this is not a cure. When the contact lenses or glasses are not worn, the astigmatism is still present which can change as we age. Refractive surgery should correct the problem fully for a period of time, but again your eyes will change as time moves on. I would discuss all of your options with an optometrist or an ophthalmologist in order to determine what option is best for you professionally, personally, and recreationally. Good luck and best wishes.
