No specific foods to avoid vis-a-vis hypothyroidism. Multiple causes for hypothyroidism: congenital hypothyroidism with various subtypes; acquired hypothyroidism usually from Hashioto's thyroiditis, an autoimmune attack (often but not always with positive family history suggesting some genetic risk), thyroid nodules or cancer or cysts that required surgery or other treatment which removes the thyroid tissue and results in hypothyroidism. Treatment of hypothyroidism is fairly striaght-forward with thyroid pills
