If you are near or over 40 you may need help just for reading .Over the counter magnifiers or sometimes called cheaters come in poeers of 1.00 to 4.00 in increments of 0.25 At the esrlier ages its a lower number you need . A forty yesr old would likely need 1 or 1.25 a 65 year old about 2.5. The higher the number the more magnified thngs are but you have to hold the reading material closer. Some people may also lose there far vision as reading gets worse such as farsightedness known as hyperopia. The reading problem as we age is called presbyopia. An eyecare professional can also help you pick out the proper strength.
