Hello. I place a splint over your nose which is removed after five days. You may become bruised and swollen for one week. There is minimal pain with this and usually lasts 2-3 days, if any. You can visit my website at DrRoya.com for further information.
Rhinoplasty surgery can effectively and permanent change the shape and perception of your nose. Generally, a splint is worn for a week or so after surgery. After the splint is removed, most of the swelling will resolve in 3 to 6 weeks. But the nose will not obtain its final appearance for 6 to 12 months. On occasion, breathing may also be improved.
Usually you go home with a splint on your nose for 5 to 7 days. You are bruised and swollen for a week or two. All the swelling takes 6 mos to a year to go away. There is usually very little pain.
Hi! After rhinoplasty, my patients wear an external cast to protect your β€œnew” nose. Most patients return to work in 7-10 days. At two weeks post op, I typically will let my patients to begin light exercise, with full return to exercise at 6 weeks. Hope this helps!
Recovery from rhinoplasty surgery is fairly simple. If the nose needs to be broken, the small cast placed after surgery is usually removed after one week. Recovery from the surgery is usually uneventful. Come see me for an in person or virtual consultation to explore further. Good luck.
